Sad news for Chelsea as they loose their star player to Real Madrid
Thibaut
Courtois failed to quash the rumours of a summer move from Chelsea to
Real Madrid in the aftermath of Belgium’s 3-2 win over Japan in last
night’s enthralling World Cup last-16 clash, as the 26-year-old stopper
said: ““Returning to Madrid? I am not going to speak about my future but
after the World Cup I will see,” The Belgian star’s contract comes to
an end in 2019, so the Blues could well be looking to gain a significant
fee for their number one goalkeeper, as he will be able to start
negotiating a Bosman deal with overseas clubs at the start of January,
and thus Chelsea losing their keeper on a free transfer.
When
asked about his future following Belgium’s last-gasp win over Japan on
Monday night, he told the Spanish media, “Returning to Madrid? I am not
going to speak about my future but after the World Cup I will see,”
Courtois said. “But for me my children are very important, I have always
said that, and they live there,” he added. Going into more detail,
Courtois said,“I don’t only like Madrid, I also like London and they are
two great cities. The difference is that my kids are in Madrid, and
they have seen the game and they see their father and they want him to
be close. “That is not to say I’m going back, but for me my kids are
very important and I will do something to see them more.”
